Music, food, fun and a potentially life-saving COVID-19 vaccine were on the agenda at an event at Bordelon's Super-Save Pharmacy on Plank Road, Sunday, July 25, 2021. The event, designed to get increased vaccination participation as the Delta variant continues contributing to a surge of infections in many states including Louisiana, was organized by Sen. Regina Barrow, D-Baton Rouge, and had major sponsorship from the Louisiana Independent Pharmacies Association. Barrow lost her husband James G. Barrow to COVID-19 in Dec. 2020, before the vaccine was available.
