BACKGROUND: President / Sobel Adamsons Clements Insurance Adjusters Limited

HISTORY:             Steven started his career with Smith Transport in 1965 as a cargo claims adjuster. He entered the insurance industry in 1966 with The Eagle Star Group. In 1968, he began his career as an independent adjuster with A.I. Macfarlane Insurance Adjusters Limited in Toronto, specializing in property loss adjustment. In 1972 he joined P.D. Brunt & Company. In 1979 he became a partner in the firm of Ponton Coleshill Edwards & Sobel Insurance Adjusters Limited. In 1982 Steven formed S.B. Sobel &Associates Insurance Adjusters Limited. With 30 years property experience behind him, he is a major player in the Toronto insurance marketplace. In April 1996 Steven purchased Canada's oldest adjusting company, Adamsons Limited, and formed Sobel Adamsons Clements Insurance Adjusters Limited. The present firm operates three offices in the greater metropolitan Toronto area.

EXPERIENCE:     Large Loss Property Adjuster since 1965 specializing in Commercial, Industrial and Residential losses. His expertise includes arson and fraud, manufacturing, retail and wholesale distribution, jewelers and furriers block, business interruption, condominiums and apartment buildings.

                              Steven is Past President of the Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association, and has served this association in many capacities including editor of their industry journal, "Without Prejudice". He has held several positions in the OIAA organization including Licensing and Qualifications Chairman and Discipline Chairman. He is a seminar leader with the Insurance Advisory Organization and has conducted training courses at local Colleges to members of the insurance industry.
